Rules & Etiquette

I. General Conduct

  1. Respect and Courtesy:
    • Treat all members with respect, regardless of their roleplay experience, character choices, or personal opinions.
    • Avoid personal attacks, harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind.
    • Constructive criticism is welcome, but it must be delivered respectfully.
  2. No Godmodding or Powerplaying:
    • Do not control other players’ characters without their explicit permission.
    • Avoid making your character excessively powerful or invincible.
    • Give other players the opportunity to react and participate in the story.
  3. Meta-Gaming:
    • Do not use out-of-character (OOC) information to influence your in-character (IC) actions.
    • Keep IC and OOC separate.
  4. Language and Content:
    • Keep language and content appropriate for a mature audience. While some violence is expected, excessive gore, explicit sexual content, and hate speech are strictly prohibited.
    • Use trigger warnings when necessary for sensitive topics.
  5. Roleplay Etiquette:
    • Post in the appropriate threads and locations.
    • Maintain a reasonable posting frequency to keep the story flowing.
    • Communicate with your roleplay partners regarding availability and plot developments.
    • No spamming.
  6. Account Usage:
    • One account per person.
    • Do not share accounts.
  7. Staff Authority:
    • Staff decisions are final.
    • Follow staff instructions and address concerns through appropriate channels.

II. Character Rules

  1. Original Characters (OCs) and Canon Characters:
    • Both OCs and canon characters are allowed.
    • Canon characters must adhere to their established lore and personalities, with reasonable room for interpretation.
    • OCs must be well developed and not overly powerful.
  2. Character Submission:
    • All characters must be submitted and approved by staff before being used in roleplay.
    • Follow the character submission template provided on the “Submission” page.
    • Provide detailed backstories, abilities, and personality descriptions.
    • Do not create characters that are copies of existing characters.
  3. Power Levels and Abilities:
    • Characters’ power levels should be reasonable and balanced.
    • Abilities must be clearly defined and explained in the character submission.
    • Avoid creating abilities that are excessively powerful or break the established lore.
    • No instant kill abilities.
  4. Character Death and Injury:
    • Permanent character death should be discussed and agreed upon by all involved parties.
    • Injuries and consequences should be realistic and reflect the severity of the situation.
  5. Clan and Bloodline Limits:
    • Follow the established lore for existing clans and bloodline limits.
    • OC clans and Bloodline limits must be approved by staff.
    • Do not create bloodline abilities that are excessively powerful.

III. Roleplay Mechanics

  1. Posting Format:
    • Use third-person perspective for roleplay posts.
    • Clearly indicate character actions, thoughts, and dialogue.
    • Use proper grammar and spelling to ensure clarity.
  2. Combat:
    • Combat should be resolved through descriptive roleplay and, when necessary, dice rolls or other agreed-upon mechanics.
    • Avoid auto-hitting or dodging.
    • Allow for realistic reactions and consequences.
  3. Lore and Setting:
    • Adhere to the established lore of the Boruto universe, with room for creative expansion.
    • Consult the “Guide” page for information on the setting, clans, and abilities.
    • Do not introduce elements that contradict the established lore without staff approval.
  4. Story Arcs and Events:
    • Participate in ongoing story arcs and events as directed by staff.
    • Contribute to the overall narrative in a meaningful way.
    • Do not disrupt or derail established storylines.
  5. Private Roleplay:
    • Private roleplay is permitted, but should not drastically impact the public plot without staff approval.

IV. Submission Page Specific Rules.

  1. Template Usage:
    • You must use the provided template when submitting a character.
    • All sections of the template must be filled out to a reasonable degree.
  2. Accuracy:
    • Information provided in the submission must be accurate and truthful.
    • Do not fabricate information.
  3. Staff Review:
    • Be patient during the staff review process.
    • Be prepared to make adjustments to your submission as requested by staff.
    • Staff reserves the right to deny any submission.

V. Guide Page Specific Rules.

  1. Information Usage:
    • The information on the guide page is to be used as a resource for your roleplaying experience.
    • Do not copy or plagiarize information from the guide page without proper citation.
  2. Feedback:
    • Provide constructive feedback on the guide page to help improve its accuracy and usefulness.
  3. Updates:
    • The guide page is subject to change. Staff will attempt to inform all members of any changes.

VI. Consequences of Rule Violations

  1. Warnings:
    • Minor violations may result in warnings from staff.
  2. Temporary Bans:
    • Repeated or severe violations may result in temporary bans from the site.
  3. Permanent Bans:
    • Extreme or malicious violations may result in permanent bans.
  4. Character Revocation:
    • Characters that break rules can be revoked.
  5. Post Removal:
    • Posts that break rules will be removed.

VII. Amendments

  1. These rules are subject to change.
  2. Staff will notify members of any changes.
