This guidebook will walk you through the process of joining our community, creating your character, participating in roleplay, and contributing to our website.

I. Getting Started: Onboarding

  1. Sign Up & Create a Character / Legend:
    • Visit the Submit & Request page.
    • Fill out the form, including your Discord username, and email address.
    • Submit the form.
  2. Join the Discord:
    • Click the provided invite link: https://boruto.gg/invite
    • Notify a staff member in the Discord that you have signed up.
  3. Approval and Private Channel:
    • Wait for a staff member to approve your account.
    • Once approved, you will receive a private Discord channel with an admin / staff.
  4. Account Setup:
    • The admin will provide your username and a temporary password.
    • Log in to your account on Boruto.gg at the top right profile icon.
    • Go to your profile settings and change your password to a secure, personal one.
  5. Character Creation:
    • Provide the admin with the following information about your character:
      • Name:
      • Picture: (Image URL or file)
      • Skills: (List of abilities and powers)
      • Lore: (A brief backstory and personality description)
    • The admin will create a character page on the website, linked to your account.
  6. Staff Training:
    • Staff members will review the Onboarding page for training: boruto.gg/onboarding-training/
    • Staff receives the code to access the page through the discord.
    • This page contains video tutorials on creating character pages and connecting them to categories, and the overall duties of staff.

II. Roleplay and Content Submission

  1. Roleplay in Discord:
    • Engage in roleplay within the Discord channels.
    • Develop your character’s story and interactions with other players.
  2. Writing Blog Posts:
    • Transform your Discord roleplay into engaging stories for the website.
    • Write blog posts detailing your character’s adventures and experiences.
    • Make sure to include at the bottom your characters NAME & LOCATION (Discord Channel) the story was developed from.
  3. Submission and Review:
    • Submit your blog posts for review by staff.
    • Staff will check for compliance with roleplay rules.
    • Staff will also add a featured image & adjust the text if needed.
  4. Categorization:
    • The most important step: staff will assign the correct category to your post.
    • Each character has a unique category, linking their posts to their profile.
    • Each Discord channel will have it’s own category attached to the post.
    • Staff will verify the correct author is assigned to the blog post.

III. Point System and Leaderboard

A. Point System:

  • Every story, event participation, and helpful interaction earns you points. Show off your skills and climb the leaderboard!
    At the end of the month the user with the most points is selected and placed on boruto.gg/achievements
  • Base Story: 2,000 points per well-written story post + images (minimum length).
  • Extra Length: 300 points per additional 250 words.
  • Quality Bonus: Up to 1,000 points for exceptional writing and engagement (staff discretion).
  • Event Participation:
    • Participation: 1,000 points.
    • Top 3: 1st: 3,000 points, 2nd: 2,500 points, 3rd: 2,000 points.
  • Community: 100-200 points for helpful contributions.
  • Weekly Bonus: 500 points for posting a story every week.
  • Penalties: Point deductions for rule violations (staff discretion).

B. Leaderboard:

  • A monthly reveal of the user who receives the most points will get listed on boruto.gg/achievements
  • The player with the highest score at the end of each month will be declared the monthly winner.
  • The monthly leaderboard will be displayed on the website’s achievements page.

C. Roleplay of The Month:

  • There’s another table listed on boruto.gg/achievements which displays Roleplay of the Month.
  • Staff selects the most outstanding roleplay outputs and creatively compelling stories.
  • The winner is placed on the table with their winning Roleplay of the Month, forever enshrined in our community’s history.

IV. Staff Responsibilities

  • Onboarding: Approve new users, create private channels, and provide temporary passwords.
  • Character Creation: Create character pages on the website.
  • Content Review: Review submitted blog posts for rule compliance and quality.
  • Categorization: Assign correct character categories to blog posts.
  • Achievement Tracking: Maintain the points system and update the leaderboard.
  • Event Management: Plan and execute special roleplay events.
  • Community Moderation: Enforce rules and maintain a positive environment.
  • Training: Keep up to date with the Onboarding tutorials.

V. Rules and Guidelines

  • All roleplay must adhere to the community’s established rules, which is available on boruto.gg/rules-etiquette
  • Respect all members of the community.
  • No godmodding or powerplaying.
  • Follow the established lore of the Boruto & Naruto universe, with room for creative interpretation.
  • Keep roleplay and content appropriate for all ages.
